We saw a lot of cool things on Martha’s Vineyard, but for me the Sculpture Trail takes the cake. It’s a little known spot that we stopped at while on a bike ride. It’s in the community of Chilmark and accessible by dirt road. The self-guided trail is a half mile long and it’s free! There’s tall sculptures, little figurines tucked into rocks and vegetation, and even furniture. Clay, driftwood, and rocks are the most common materials used. It’s whimsical, magical, and just downright cool. Art is hidden everywhere. It was like being on a treasure hunt.
Trail art is so much fun. There’s a handful of biking trails that come to mind with great trail art. Fantasy Island in Tucson, Arizona. Phil’s World in Cortez, Colorado. The whole trail system in Bentonville, Arkansas. Crabs and Tang in San Diego. But all of those pale in comparison to the Sculpture Trail.

Tall Sculptures
Some of these are reminiscent of True Detective season one and that weird show Yellowjackets.

Wow! Cool place and great pics!
It was quite the surprise treat!
